Dear Marc & Rob:
Haven’t heard of Rob’s schedule yet and whether he can really come to Zimbabwe after his stint in Uganda. I’m praying so as the situation here continues to deteriorate.
I understand that Mark Bergin did a great job on the article he wrote. I hope that it brings some desperately needed aid. As I write, my assistant Andrew is delivering a tiny baby in the coffin we had to provide, to the cemetery in one of the high density suburbs here. We also had to purchase a small burial plot for this starved baby. Even now we have one of our workers staying at the hospital to hourly feed another starving baby. Cholera is claiming hundreds (if not thousands) of lives and the situation continues to deteriorate very, very quickly. I’m praying that this greed disease abates and things improve here before millions of lives are lost. World Vision and World Food Program have admitted that they under-estimated the number needing to be fed by now, that it is nearer to 5 million than 2, and still all kinds of handicaps are deliberately placed to prevent the saving of lives.
We are praying continually for a change. I hope all your programs are going well and that the Lord will bless your endeavors abundantly, above all that you ask or hope.
Love,
Paula
